Job Scheduling Optimiser

The Job Scheduling Optimiser sequences jobs across trucks, drivers and equipment against time windows, service commitments and available hours. It builds the day’s plan from live bookings in WaveSCM, then re-optimises as jobs are added, delayed or cancelled, so your planners have a considered answer within minutes when the day changes.

Key features

• Plans from live bookings: Jobs, container bookings, time slots and customer delivery windows are read directly from WaveSCM, so there is no separate data set to maintain.
• Trucks, drivers and equipment together: Each job is matched to a suitable vehicle, trailer or equipment type and driver, taking into account driver hours, shift patterns and licences such as dangerous goods.
• Time windows and slots respected: Customer delivery windows, terminal booking slots and service commitments are built into the plan, and any job that cannot be met is flagged early rather than discovered late.
• Less empty running: Work is combined and sequenced, for example pairing import deliveries with export collections and empty container returns, to reduce empty kilometres and idle time between jobs.
• Re-optimises when the day changes: When a job runs late, is cancelled or an urgent job comes in, the remaining work is reordered while keeping disruption to jobs already under way to a minimum.
• Your people stay in control: The optimiser proposes and explains. Planners accept, adjust, lock or override the plan, and the accepted plan is written back to the same jobs in WaveSCM so dispatch and drivers work from one plan.
